The Battle of the Highlighters!

We all know highlighters can be absolutely beautiful. What we also know, is that they can be pricy. I have a mix of high and low end highlighters and highlighting palettes swatched and ready for action. From Jeffree Star, to Primark. From eBay fakes, to the famous Sleek. Unbiased and all purchased with my own money. Read on to see prices, swatches, rating out of 10 and whether I would recommend!

The first of the bunch are a mix of singles. They follow, from top to bottom, makeup revolution in low lights, makeup revolution in golden lights, and makeup revolution in peach lights. Each of these are £3, and golden lights is incredible. Below these,  there's makeup revolution ultra strobe balm, also £3 I believe, makeup revolution in radiant lights, and finally, for comparison, M.A.C mineralize skinfinish in the cult favourite, Soft and Gentle. This retails for a rather costly £24.50.

Next up is the primark palette (The strobing kit) which is £3 for 3 shades. I like one of the highlighters, the lightest, but they're very soft, powdery, and difficult to apply. I wouldn't hugely recommend these.

Thirdly, there's this lovely lot :

this is a Anastasia Beverly Hills moon child palette, from eBay. Ebay. THIS IS A FAKE. I have little shame about showing this, because it's one of my favourites. It cost me £6.99, with next day delivery, and it has some beautiful shades. However, I can't recommend this for the simply reason that there's no way to tell what the ingredients are. Purchase at your own risk.

Next up is one you might not even be able to see.

All I can say about these is that for the highlighters, they're absolutely not worth it. These are two of the MUA 'bronze and sculpt contour kits' and the MUA 'strobe and glow highlight kit'. These each retail for £5, and I wouldn't recommend them. The contouring colours in the kit are okay, though!

The one before last : Jeffree Star. An incredibly well known beauty influenced on the 'tube, and an all round King of Shook. These highlighters are beautiful, big, and pricey enough to make my eyes smart at £25 a pop.

The two above are 'Ice Cold' and 'Eclipse', the latter of which is a limited edition shade in collaboration with Manny MUA. I'd recommend Ice Cold more. These are incredibly soft, to the point that they don't really swatch well on the finger,  but they're beautiful all the same. If you want to glow for the gods, go with these. (The pans are also huge, you get a whopping 15g of product)

Last but not least, is the world famous sleek palette. Retailing at around £10, this palette is pretty cheap! The textures are insane to me, they feel very dry, and they show incredible pigment. Here you go!

I hope these photos perhaps lead you in the right direction when considering making a purchase. You can't go wrong with makeup revolution for cheap but chirpy products. Jeffree Star is a winner, as is Sleek, of course. Hope you enjoyed!!

Lauren.
